Discussions help you have asynchronous, deep conversations around GitHub issues

  • Typically you create and assign a GitHub issue to implement a new feature or resolve an existing bug. After an issue is assigned, it's time to discuss it. Async provides you with Discussions that you can have around your issues.
  • Discussions encourage you and your team to have threaded, long-form, focused conversations.
  • Unlike issues, Discussions are transient - you can have as many Discussions around one issue as you need.
  • Discussions in Async, similar to issues, support Markdown.
  • In both Github issues and Async Discussions, you can stay productive by using mentions. Use mentions to autofill team member usernames (@), issues (#i), pull requests (#p), commits (#master#c), discussions (#d), knowledge docs (#k), and standups (#s).
